For its 25th edition, the Kölner Bierbörse opens along Cologne's Rhine promenade in early August, drawing visitors to the riverside with the Cathedral as a backdrop. The open-air festival presents an extensive range of beer specialities from across Germany and around the world — from regional Kölsch and craft creations to international styles — served from dozens of stands with food and live music. Free to wander, it pairs perfectly with a Cologne BeerTrip taking in the city's classic Kölsch brewhouses such as Früh, Sion and Päffgen.
