About this trip
Spain's third-largest city is far more than paella and the City of Arts and Sciences. Over the past decade, an artisan brewing scene has taken root between the Turia riverbed and the Mediterranean, driven by local pioneers who turned the "caña" culture into a genuine flavour adventure. Tyris, the city's first independent microbrewery, blazed the trail in 2008; Zeta Beer followed in 2014 with isobaric lagers that rival the best from Germany. Today the scene orbits two hubs: Russafa, the creative neighbourhood where craft bars jostle for attention, and the old town of Ciutat Vella, where taprooms sit alongside stalls in the Mercado Central. Sunshine, Mediterranean gastronomy and a glass price that still feels gentle make Valencia one of the most compelling craft destinations in southern Europe.
